1-800-354-BIKE - 608-269-4123

Hi, my name is "Little" Ben Bikin'. I live in Sparta, Wisconsin, the Bicycling Capital of America. Sparta is located in the center of 101 miles of connected State Bike Trails and at the end of the famous Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail. "Big" Ben Bikin' is a 32-ft. fiberglass structure sitting on the corner of Water and Highway 16 in Sparta. He just learned to talk!

Yes, Big Ben now talks. He tells you about Sparta and the activities happening here. You won't want to miss stopping by BIG Ben Bikin' and hear what he has to say plus have your picture taken with Ben. Already this year, he has seen visitors from 47 states and from England, Japan, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. We recently had a tour that rode from Minneapolis to New York City (the Minneapple Tour) and a Habitat for Humanity Bike Tour from Nashville to Winnipeg, Canada, plus a cross-country tour

from Oregon to New Hampshire and the Bike Across American tour.

The tourism folks in Sparta decided they needed a "mascot"...so I was born! I am "Little Ben Bikin'. I wear an outfit just like Big Ben and I even have a mustache. I ride a smaller version of the "ordinary" bike...I couldn't reach the pedals of Big Ben's Bike. I participate in area parades, visit with guests at area lodging establishments, stop by the Chamber office and chat with the bicyclists and lead Motor Coach tours downtown. I go fishing at beautiful Perch Lake in Sparta...fall asleep and dream of riding the bike trails...golfing our beautiful municipal golf course- although mostly I check out the lovely flower beds around the course (and rake the sand!)...and I fish the La Crosse River when the canoers and kayakers are gone!

Ben Biken works year round
