The Sparta Area Chamber of Commerce publishes a monthly newsletter, the Ambassador. The Ambassador is an effective means to inform the membership and the community of current Chamber events and activities. The Ambassador is printed on the 1st of each month and is mailed to over 350 members, school and government officials. Inserts are available for member announcements and specials. New members and renewals are high-lighted each month, along with a letter from the President and upcoming schedules.
BA5 is a wonderful way to increase your exposure and/or promote your business, a new product or service. It is an opportunity to mingle with Sparta area business owners in a relaxed social setting and offers an excellent “fringe benefit” to offer to member employees. BA5 is held monthly (3rd or 4th Thursday) in member establishments. Member hosts provide snacks, beverages and door prizes. Attendance ranges from 65 - 275, depending on facility and time of year. To reserve a date for this popular social event, please contact the office as soon as possible as the calendar fills fast.
As a Chamber member you will receive referrals from our office when people call asking for your particular type of business. It is our policy to refer ONLY member businesses, unless we do not have any members in a particular category of product or service. Members may request a listing of inquiries received at the office, relocation or tourism information.
The Membership Guide / Resource Directory is Sparta’s most up-to-date membership and demographic publication. It is published and distributed to members, visitors and individuals relocating to our area. Each member business is listed in the Directory with name, address, contact name, phone, FAX, website, e-mail address and brief description of the business.
The Chamber Depot office is located along the State Bike Trails and serves as an information center up to 3,000 visitors per month in the summer. We offer space for member business brochures, publications and business cards and offer display space in the reception area.
Members who are relocating, starting a new business or expanding an existing business may request a Ribbon Cutting ceremony. The Chamber Ambassadors, Directors and members are requested to attend, along with government officials. Photos are published in the local newspaper.
Six “Cracker Barrel” Legislative breakfasts are scheduled annually to inform members on state and federal legislative issues. Local, state and federal lawmakers are invited to attend to provide up-to-date information. The Chamber has contacts with city and county government officials and monitors business-related legislation.

The Chamber offers referral services for solving business-related problems in cooperation with the Small Business Administration, SCORE, University Extension and UW-L Business Development Center.
The Chamber provides legal certification documents required for importing or exporting products to certain foreign countries.
The Chamber has a permit for reduced postage for Chamber member mailings of 200 or more pieces.
